Clinical Pilates

What is Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates builds whole body strength and flexibility with a focus on core exercises under the direct supervision of a Pilates trained Allied Health professional.

It helps teach us to use our arms and eyes instead of our back and shoulders. It can aid in improving our posture and strength for daily activities and reduce muscle strains and pains.

“Core” is what we call the powerhouse of the body. The anterior trunk of the body. The area between your ribs and hips. These “Core” muscles are predominantly the pelvic floor muscles & transverse abdominal muscle alongside various other intrinsic muscles of the spine that help support our lower back and internal organs.

Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and occupations. Clinical Pilates doesn’t just relate to rehabilitation of an injury.

Clinical Pilates can be used for;

  • Injury prevention
  • Enhanced sporting performance
  • Improved breathing patterns
  • Increased muscle strength and flexibility
  • Improved postural strain patterns
  • Back and neck pain
  • Pelvic and hip pain
  • Chronic pain sufferers
  • Aid in general well being

Our Clinical Pilates Instructors will assess your past injury history and current fitness level and tailor a program for your specific needs.
